James decide to do this project with the old collage technic of different social events happen in 1962, year when Lois was founded; the death of Marilyn Monroe, Cuban Missile Crisis, the Rolling Stones first concert, first "James Bond vs Dr. No", premier of "Lolita", "Lawrence of Arabia", "El Angel Exterminador", King Juan Carlos I and Quenn Sofia get married, first number of "Spiderman", Brasil won the World Cup with Pelé and many many others... The events were wrote with black ink and the rest with red watercolor and gold ink on Lois 1962. See the VIDEO with all the process.

For this season in our LOIS & ART section, James came up with the idea of paying homage to the mythical posters of B-series movies of the 50s and 60s, those horror, sci-fi and adventures movies that we enjoyed so much then and now. To this end, we have used the same process as 60 years ago: a picture of the leading couple was taken at the studio on a white background, the picture was developed on paper and then it was painted over with different techniques and materials. A special wardrobe was also created especially for the occasion by mixing denim and plastic parts, and accessorized with some plumbing tubes and toy helmets painted in gold, all in order to approach as much as possible the “limited budget” creative productions of that age.

The result has been amazing and the six different artists have embodied their ideas on B-movie posters in six different ways, sometimes using modern techniques and with the mentality of 2016. Who knows if these posters could have had a great success 60 years ago…
